September 14-16: Seattle to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (via Houston and Istanbul) arriving at 2:40 am local time.
This is the only part of the the trip that induces a little anxiety.  Arriving in the dark with jet lag after traveling for over 30 hours to be picked up by a greeter and transported to my hotel is advanced practice in letting go.

September 23: Bishkek to Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Meet up with my Cleveland-based pals, Belleruth & Phyllis to form the American cabal in our Australian-organized tour.  Over the next two weeks we will visit Samarkand, Urgut, Konigli, Bukhara, Khiva, Ayaz Kala, and Nukus.

October 8: Taskent to Seattle (via Seoul and Tokyo) arriving home on October 9th

Both tours are organized by Uzbek Journeys, run by Penelope Price.  Her wonderful website offers a wealth of information about the various destinations.
